AW14 — SALT
Inspired by the inexhaustible mineral, salt offers an aesthetic awakening for local designer Suk Chai’s 2014 Autumn/Winter collection. Stirred at the microscopic level, NaCl reveals acute structures and contoured lines. This current season’s offering presents an elemental juxtaposition of natural fibers and the shapes they take on. Composed of fine leather, delicate Italian cashmere, and vintage-washed silk, the line is S C H A I’s vision incarnate.
SS15 — WATER
As salt is necessitated for survival, water is equally fundamental to who we are. Suk Chai implements the importance of water and it’s being in her 2015 Spring/Summer collection. Through oceanic hues in chosen fibers of silk striped voile, lightweight linen-denim, and textured leather, the line imparts a way of being. Water inspires stillness, quiet, and the peace that comes with flow. Embracing these features through SCHAI’s upcoming line, we can then inversely learn more of our natural selves.
