Maria Calderara developed her design label while attending the University of Architecture in Venice, where the local glassmaking tradition inspired her first jewelry collection. After graduating in 1983, Calderara established a showroom in Milan to debut her art and accessories, as well as a seasonal ready-to-wear collection. Her designs often bear impressions of her travels, evoking the aura of a place with carefully chosen fabrics and integrated colors.
