Labors of Love

Labors of Love

Sip organic botanicals grown and harvested by the hands of Pacific Northwest farmers. Disappear into hand crafted chocolate decadence. We have invited two powerful creators from Portland to delight you with their creations and deepen your knowledge of two ancient rituals. Teri Gelber began the T Project after a life long passion for tea. Not many children request to be dropped at a tea house instead of the playground. She has put her every effort into the details of her teas from source, production and container. With names like Wild is the Wind, White Light White Heat and Diamonds and Rust you can be certain the dried bouquets you steep and savor will have you floating in another world. As the Japanese who began tea ceremonies in the ninth century believed, celebrate the mellow beauty that time and care impart to materials.

Alma Chocolate is a labor of love that was begun by Sarah Hart in 2006. Her deep affection coaxes out the magic of cacao with unconventional taste pairings while leaving each delicate note a place in the symphony. Committed to sourcing from a single estate devoted to the old methods and the art of chocolate making, she continues to surprise the palettes of her clientele.

We couldn’t think of a more lovely offering than a tea and chocolate pairing. Join us in store for a tasting with Teri Gelber and Sarah Hart on December 12, 11-5 and December 13, 12-4. We will also have their beautiful goods for sale.
