Hello Baby!

The retail climate has changed drastically since we opened our doors in 1976. We have had to look over our long history to reflect on how Baby & Company has built a community around its magical blend of visual narration and an assortment of product that was unique and unknown.

Forty-two years later, we are still combining those essential elements to bring neighbors near and far into our store with the hope of leaving our visitors surprised and wanting more! It’s rooted in our DNA. It’s what Baby & Company is all about. We have always been storytellers and magicians of visual theater. We own this space of experience retail. To us, it’s the norm and not the exception.

To honor our long-held tradition of the unique and unknown, we have created an incredible Designer Residency series that launched last month with The Office of Angela Scott, an LA-based shoe collection. Angela was on hand to share her amazing collection and let followers, new and old, see why they are such ardent fans of the design and philosophy which has built the brands incredible success.

I want to personally invite you to come and meet our next series of designers. Each will share their stories and give you a look into the creative lens which has helped create their amazing collections.

We will kick off these monthly events with a designer Happy Hour to bring together our customers, friends, and neighbors to meet and greet these talented  artists. We invite you to see, feel, and touch the products they make with their unique artistry and creative vision. Each Designer Residency will feature a full collection Shop-in-Shop, to give you the experience of their ethos and passion.

Here’s what’s happening.

November 8th - We kick off our second Designer Residency:  We will host a full capsule of LA-based Jaga by Jaga Buyan. Her work is a mix of Tribal Bespoke with a dose of Romantic LA rocker. Each piece is hand-painted and cut for the shape of a women’s whole body. Exotic, sexy, and wearable. Check out her collection and let us know if there are any particular pieces you would like her to bring along with her during her residency. This residency is the month of November only.

In addition - (Just to keep things fun and festive) we will be hosting three Incredible Trunk Show collections:

Jewelry Designer:

Leslie Paige – Friday, November the 9th & Saturday, November the 10th only.

CBD Alchemist and Botanical Wizard:

Blair Lauren Brown with her CBD Spa collection Verte Essentials – Friday, November the 9th & Saturday, November the 10th only.

Artist, painter, and performer:

Lady Krishna (Natasha Shulman). Natasha will be selling her one of a kind paintings and artwork out of our Boudoir Gallery Space (otherwise known as the dressing rooms) for the entire month of November.

Dec 6th - We kick off the third residency, with another tripleheader for the holidays. We will have two Designer Residency installations to come experience. Trust me, you don’t want to miss it!

A designer residency with The Elder Statesman - The super deluxe handmade cashmere brand from LA. The Director of clientele and custom affairs Carlina Fonseca will be in store Thursday, Dec 6 - Saturday, Dec 8 to help with special requests and custom orders of this amazing cashmere collection that includes everything from socks to sleeping bags! Take a look, you’re going to freak out!

A designer residency with Atelier & Repairs - When we tell you that there are no two pieces the same, we mean it! The whole concept behind this cult brand is the brainchild of denim legend Maurizio Donadi. As Maurizio explains, Atelier & Repairs is an initiative to eliminate the worlds excess one stitch at a time. Using all reclaimed vintage denim and work wear, the collection serves up a unique experience for each individual piece. Just you wait!

A designer residency with Capsule Parfumerie - A small batch LA-based multi-brand fragrance house. All perfumes are handcrafted in-house by co-founders Mike & Linda Sivrican. We will feature a nice selection for both men & women. The scents are out of this world!

Now that you’re caught up on all of the exciting stuff we have been working on for the past several months. I have absolutely no doubt you will fall in love with each of our designers and their spectacular products.
