The Sunday Guide – February

The Sunday Guide – February
INSPIRATION STATEMENT
a word.
The Best of Us…
Watching the community of Los Angeles come together represents a window of hope for those who have lost so much. What is most inspiring and encouraging to me is how people of all generations, ethnicities, religions, economic status, and political persuasion seemed to have forgotten all these attributes that often serve to divide us fall away, and instead used as the collective will and conscience to tap into a powerful LA Brotherhood shared by all.
A community with the same mission and might, to get through the very worst of times.
Music and art always provide us with a beautiful pause during the difficult times. FireAid, the benefit concert held on January 30, showcased a community that wanted some healing, and during the event it seemed to provide a pathway for brighter days ahead.
If you are reading this, it means you share in a wonderful, vast and diverse relationship through a mutual love of fashion and style that we have strived to build over our 49 year history. We have always seen ourselves as a community builder in both our new home in Ketchum, and our hometown of Seattle. We must preserve and support our small independent and local
businesses because they represent the personalities of the community they serve. To be able to discuss, exchange ideas, and get to know one another as neighbors, and not by our labels.
I get to hear from all of you, and I love that we are all different in our beliefs and ideology. Because regardless of all that, through respect and trust, we can value and express our differences so that we can nurture understanding of our diverse perspectives and points of view. We can listen, learn, and hear one another in a place and space that is meant to be
a source of joy and happiness. We have always sought the many ways to make B&C feel like one of your “Happy Places”. Our clothing and colorful displays work in concert to provide a positive visual narrative to disarm worry and tension that seem to be hard to avoid in today’s environment.
Baby & Company by its very nature is eclectic, individual, independent, and unconventional by design. We naturally attract people who relate to our spirit, and see these same virtues within themselves. It is my wish that we can move through and past the uncertain times that seem to be waiting for us. That we can have beautiful escapes through the things that make us the most happy. That we can spend more time with the ones we love, and try to give grace to the ones we don’t. Because at the end of the day, like it our not, we are all in this together. the good, the bad and the ugly.
So today, tomorrow or the next, always try to find The Good!
