The Sunday Guide – May

The Sunday Guide – May

Opening Statement

Flowers and sunshine and daily SPF, oh my! Spring is officially in the air and after this long winter’s nap, we’re ready to wake up and start blooming – just as nature intended.
I’ve put together a wish list, straight from my weary winter heart, so we can stop hibernating and start playing. We’re heading outside and staying there – cheers to beach days, outdoor concerts, and a much later bedtime.
See you at the pool, Baby.

Colman Pool

A swim with a view? Count us in. Starting May 11, you can dive into this heated saltwater pool while enjoying panoramic views of Puget Sound. Located in West Seattle, this longtime local favorite is a must must must.

Ballard Jazz Festival

From individual shows to the total Jazz takeover that is the Ballard Jazz Walk, this is a festival for those looking to get down. Starting May 29, you have the chance to groove your body at multiple venues, including the newly renovated Nordic Museum.

Outdoor Concerts

Seattleites, don’t sleep on this schedule. If you find yourself twiddling your thumbs, get inspired with a quick look at this detailed map of what, when and where. Garage sales? Check. Beer Week? Check. The list goes on and on…and on.

London Music Festival

For those looking to get international with it, we recommend the All Points East music festival in London. This six-day music mecca features headliners like James Blake, Leon Bridges, Bon Iver, and many other greats.

Joshua Tree Wildflowers

Joshua Tree is seeing its biggest wildflower bloom in decades. Is there anything dreamier than that sentence?! We think not. Book a weekend stay and enjoy everything the national park has to offer.

Washington Hikes

Whether or not you call Washington State your home, it’s well worth the visit for the hiking alone. You don’t have to be an outdoor expert to take advantage of the natural beauty, just use this guide to pick out the perfect hike or the perfect picnic spot.

Seattle Rock & Roll Marathon

Running for a cause is always in style. This half marathon, happening June 9, is a great way to kick off the summer. We recommend stocking up on CBD wellness goodies from Verte Essentials and Cannabis Basics for post-run relief.

MOHAI

Seattle fashion is a bit of an enigma. Some people think of grunge, others of tech-leisure. The newest exhibit from MOHAI, Seattle Style: Fashion /Function, takes a deep dive into the Seattle wardrobe, past and present. We submitted a Commes Des Garçons piece, see if you can spot it!

Shop in Shop: FLEURISH

From May 6th through the 12th, we'll be hosting Fleurish @ Baby & Company for a floral shop in shop with bouquets and books, pottery and vases, garden tools and beauty and so much more. You'll also be able to pre-order your bouquets for Mother's Day, so they'll be extra fresh and on-hand!

On Wednesday, May 8th from 6-8pm, we'll have Nisha of Fleurish in-store for you to meet and greet and learn about what makes her work so gorgeous.
